St. Benitez, Paper Critics & Egotistical Ownership

Liverpool mam noted the myopia and plain silliness of many of the paper critics of the manager as 2008 began. Accused of over-rotating his squad, not having the ability to win Liverpool the title and not playing fabulous Torres enough, the plain factual inaccuracy purveyed by some national sports writers and former players is exposed by Paul Tomkins (Spending and rotating versus the special one :), Ferguson & Wenger). 3 cheers for intellectual clarity and honesty! A special mention goes to James Lawton (The Independent) for steroidially pompous commentary.

Ahem, three cheers to gutsy savvy manager with a track record of success who inherited a poor squad and a miniscule kitty for players (relative to the top three). Gutsy Benitez?-taking Torres when sentiment favoured the return of Owen; outhinking the best European managers with the the squad he's had, showing backbone against hysterical criticism and the 'support' of the new owners.
With Torres, Babel, Mascherano adding to the quality of his team's spine, can we simply back a winner and have the balls to stick it out? Thank you mr Hicks.

- Is Hicks a Pantomime Horse Rear or is this the End?

A thrilling Anfield Champions League victory over Arsenal is usurped by the media antics of the owner. Hicks' destabilising PR interventions seem naive, crass attempts to enlist fan support and retain control.
Hick's only logic appears to be brand exploitation value. Hissssssssss, as we scream at the pantomime villain.
Doesn't the great rear end appreciate that if the manager-lynchpin holding LFC's current footballing status together leaves, then LFC's stock would be diminished? Does our pantomime prima donna derriere think brilliant managers are transient and not crucial, permanent elements in the ongoing history of the club, forever colouring and personifying it? (Shankly, Busby, Paisley, Clough, Stein, Wenger, Ferguson, Benitez)
-Oh no he doesn't, apparently..
3 Cheers to the great horse's arse who keeps foistering company business on reluctant supporters. Do you really have to go on? -Oh no you don't!
